Media Advisory: Community Ribbon Cutting Celebrating New Public Plaza Space

LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles City Council President Herb Wesson will unveil new public plaza space in the Leimert Park neighborhood of the city this Saturday, June 27, adding much needed recreation space to South Los Angeles. People St, a program of the City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) helps communities transform underused areas of city streets into active, vibrant, and accessible public space.

“Strong communities begin with a park,” said L.A. City Council President Herb Wesson. “I am committed to finding creative ways to bring more recreational space not just to the communities I serve, but also for families across the city. People St is a great program providing residents with the resources they need to build healthier neighborhoods.”
