01 Feb Media Advisory: L.A. City Council and Members of City Hall Press Corps Re-Dedicate Media Center in Memory of Rick Orlov
LOS ANGELES – Together with members of the Los Angeles City Council and the City Hall press corps, Los Angeles City Council President Herb Wesson will re-dedicate the Los Angeles City Council Memorial Media Center. Following tomorrow’s ceremony the media center will be known as the Rick Orlov Memorial Media Center in memory of Los Angeles Daily News reporter Rick Orlov. Orlov was a dedicated local political reporter for almost three decades who became known as the dean of the City Hall press corps. He died suddenly on February 2, 2015. “Rick dedicated his entire life to keeping the public informed,” said L.A. City Council President Herb Wesson. “He was a terrific journalist, friend and mentor and today we honor the man who gave so much to our city.” In homage to the beloved reporter a plaque was commissioned and will hang in the Media Center located adjacent to the John Ferraro Council Chamber at Los Angeles City Hall.
