19 Feb Media Advisory: L.A. City Council Committee Will Meet TODAY to Discuss DWP Governance Reform, Lawmakers Encourage Members of the Public to Attend
LOS ANGELES- Members of the city’s Rules, Elections, Intergovernmental Relations and Neighborhoods committee chaired by L.A. City Council President Herb J. Wesson, Jr. will meet this afternoon to begin hearing public testimony on proposals aimed at reforming the city’s Department of Water and Power (DWP). The committee will begin discussing various changes to the department’s structure including the composition of the Board of Water and Power Commission, Power Revenue Transfer and City Hall oversight.
Today’s committee meeting marks the first of several forums available to members of the public to provide recommendations and suggestions related to DWP governance reform. Hearings will be held citywide to ensure the highest level of public participation. Committee agenda can be viewed here.
