10 Jul OurCycle L.A. Brings Internet to 3,000 Eligible Angelenos
Silicon Beach is the 2nd largest tech-hub in the world, yet some in our communities still do not have a personal computer, laptop or access to the internet. In a time when these are no longer luxuries, but necessities, government has a responsibility to eliminate the digital divide. This is why we founded OurCycle L.A. and have worked hard to build private-public partnerships that bring our communities into the 21st century.
This week, we worked with Human I-T, Frontier Communications and the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles to launch a new effort to bring low-cost internet to over 3,000 eligible federally-subsidized housing units. This partnership is a testament to the power of collaboration in helping bridge the digital divide.
