23 Aug USC Village Community Open House
Last week, I joined city leaders, community members and USC faculty, staff and students at the USC Village Community Open House. It was a pleasure to celebrate the opening of this new addition to the USC campus, especially since it was made possible by a strong coalition forged over the last few years between the University of Southern California, the City of Los Angeles and the South L.A. community.
The USC Village is not just a handful of dorms and stores- it is a landmark that will become effortlessly integrated into Los Angeles’ history. Walking around, I could not help but think about the future leaders of our city who will live, learn and dream in the new dorms. Local businesses, like Council District 10’s Trejo’s Tacos, will fill the retail spaces and provide good jobs for community members. In 2028, it will even transform into the Olympic and Paralympic Media Village. Congratulations to USC on this accomplishment!
