Welcoming the International Association of Blacks in Dance

Welcoming the International Association of Blacks in Dance

We have been long-time friends of the Lula Washington Dance Theatre, a world-class dance company in Council District 10 whose work reflects African-American history and culture. This year, they brought the Annual International Association of Blacks in Dance Conference, a gathering of the foremost leaders from the black dance community, to the City of Angels. Our office was proud to help sponsor their opening reception and program materials, and I was excited join them for the kick-off of their conference.

The attendees  wear many hats— they are educators, choreographers, performers, sponsors, directors. Yet most importantly they are heroes, saving our communities through the arts.
