10 Jul Re-elected as Los Angeles City Council President
I am humbled to announce I was unanimously reelected by my peers as President of the Los Angeles City Council. I am proud of what our City Council has achieved in the last two years and am more fired up than ever to continue our momentum. We have brought hundreds out of poverty by increasing the city’s minimum wage. We reformed the city’s pension structure ensuring the city continues on sound financial footing. We campaigned hand-in-hand for $1.2 billion in new money dedicated to housing homeless Angelenos. We have done big things, but our work is never done. We must continue fighting to make Los Angeles more inclusive, equal and tolerant for all.
On July 25 I will outline my vision for Los Angeles and my legislative goals for the upcoming term. We were elected to lead, not to manage, and that is what we will continue to do. Thank you to my colleagues for this reelection, and let’s get back to fighting the good fight.
